Job Posting: Marketing and Special Projects Manager
Bay Future, Inc. is a public-private non-profit focused on supporting economic development in Bay County, Michigan. Our mission is to drive sustainable economic growth by supporting business retention, expansion, and attraction while promoting a vibrant and diverse local economy. We are seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing and Special Projects Manager to elevate our visibility, tell compelling stories, and lead strategic communication efforts that support our mission.

Marketing & Communications Strategy
Develop and execute an annual marketing and communications plan aligned with Bay Future’s strategic goals.
Oversee branding consistency across all platforms and communications.
Track and analyze performance metrics to measure campaign effectiveness and inform decisions.
Digital & Social Media
Create and implement a social media strategy to increase community engagement and audience reach across platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram, etc.).
Develop and manage a content calendar featuring relevant news, partner updates, success stories, and economic development insights.
Monitor social media trends and analytics, adjusting strategies to maximize engagement and visibility.
Website & Digital Presence
Oversee the Bay Future website, including content updates, SEO optimization, and user experience improvements.
Collaborate with web developers or vendors as needed for technical enhancements and maintenance.
Storytelling & Content Creation
Identify, develop, and share stories that highlight Bay County’s economic development progress, investor success stories, and community impact.
Write, edit, and manage a wide variety of content, including newsletters, press releases, blog posts, presentations, and marketing collateral.
Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and share testimonials, case studies, and video content.
Concept, shoot and produce custom videos.
Media Relations & Public Outreach
Build and maintain strong relationships with local media and industry outlets.
Draft media releases and coordinate media outreach for key announcements and events.
Support the planning and promotion of Bay Future-hosted events and initiatives.
Other Responsibilities
Assist with internal communications and board engagement materials.
Support investor communications, including the development of impact reports and promotional materials.
Represent Bay Future at public events, conferences, and community meetings as needed.
Manage special projects when applicable.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
3–5 years of marketing experience, preferably in nonprofit, economic development, or community-based organizations.
Strong writing, storytelling, and editing skills.
Proven experience managing social media and digital content.
Proficiency with website content management systems like Squarespace, email marketing platforms, and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Constant Contact).
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

$49,500 to $54,500 commensurate with experience
