Business Retention and Expansion program
At Bay Future, we believe that the heart of economic growth lies in nurturing the businesses already rooted in our community. That’s why our Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) program is a cornerstone of our economic development strategy. A robust BRE program allows us to proactively connect with existing employers to understand their needs, address challenges, and identify opportunities for growth—right here in Bay County.
Most new jobs don't come from businesses moving in; they come from local companies expanding. National data shows that up to 80 - 90 % of job creation stems from businesses already in the community. Our BRE efforts focus on sustaining these vital contributors to our local economy by offering support with workforce development, access to incentives, infrastructure planning, and navigating regulatory issues. By removing barriers and opening doors, we help businesses grow and thrive where they are—boosting job creation and economic stability from the inside out.
What sets Bay Future’s BRE program apart is our strong emphasis on relationships. We’re not just gathering data—we’re building trust. Through regular, face-to-face visits, surveys, and open communication, we foster meaningful partnerships with local employers. These relationships help us anticipate trends, spot early warning signs of potential issues, and respond with tailored solutions. Whether it’s helping a manufacturer access training programs or connecting a small business with capital, our hands-on approach ensures that companies feel supported, valued, and confident in their decision to grow in Bay County.
When local businesses succeed, our entire region prospers. Bay Future’s Business Retention and Expansion program is more than a service—it’s a commitment to our community’s long-term success.
