Three plants in the U.S. will benefit from the new announcement made today from General Motors: Tonawanda, NY; Defiance, OH, and Bay City, MI. Next generation Ecotec engines will continue to provide the right combination of fuel efficiency and performance to meet customer expectations.
GM Powertrain Bay City will see a $10.5 million investment to bring the new product to the plant Ecotech connection rods. The investment will create about 15 jobs.
This investment is important because it supports manufacturing in the United States, said Cal Rapson, vice president and director, UAW International Union. All three plants have a strong reputation for building quality and focusing on the needs of our customers.
